RIT Kosovo (A.U.K)

Located in Prishtina, Kosovo, stands as a distinguished institution that equips students with the skills and knowledge to become real-life problem solvers in both traditional and emerging fields. RIT Kosovo is driven by a dual objective of encouraging its students to actively contribute to the development of a democratic and prosperous country while also ensuring their competitiveness on a global scale. The degrees earned by RIT Kosovo students hold international recognition, enabling them to pursue career opportunities beyond the borders of Kosovo and the region.

As part of the Roaming project, RIT Kosovo brings its expertise by leading Work Package 5: Dissemination. This way RIT Kosovo is contributing to the project’s success and advancing the goals of international collaboration and knowledge exchange.

  • Kamal Shahrabi

    Kamal Shahrabi is the RIT Kosovo’s president. Shahrabi was with Kean University for more than 20 years as a professor of electrical engineering technology and the department chair. In 2007 he joined Farmingdale State College as Dean of the School of Engineering Technology, director of Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), and the executive director of the Renewable Energy and Sustainability Center (RESC). Shahrabi has published several papers in various areas of communication, robot tracking in space, wireless communication, the impact of globalization of advanced telecommunication technologies in developing countries, high speed optical satellite communication, femtosecond pulse shaping and renewable energy. Shahrabi has several years of experience in the areas of renewable energy, digital signal processing, tracking in space, communication, and satellite control systems. Shahrabi received a BS degree in electrical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, an ME degree in electrical engineering from City College in New York, and an M. Phil. and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from City University of New York

  • Medina Orana

    Medina Orana is a project and change management specialist with expertise in projects in education, development agencies and government institutions. She is an Adjunct Professor at RIT Kosovo and a consultant for different organizations in topics related to project, program and change management. Medina, currently serves as the Senior Academic Advisor at RIT Kosovo. She has, previously, led the licensing department at Kosovo Agency for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety, ran the minister cabinet at the Ministry of European Integration and worked with other different organizations in the past 15 years.

    Medina is an alumni of RIT Kosovo, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Arts and Sciences. She holds a Master of Science Degree from University of Sussex in Brighton, UK supported through a scholarship from the Young Cell Scheme in Kosovo, and a Professionals Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Human Element in Leadership from University of California in Los Angeles, as a fellow of the Transformational Leadership Program.

  • Diella Lulaj

    Diella Lulaj is an Academic Advisor at RIT Kosovo. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies, specializing in Management & Entrepreneurship and Peace & Conflict Studies, complemented by a minor in Economics. In 2022, she furthered her academic achievements by earning a Master’s degree in Professional Studies with a focus on Strategic Foresight and Innovation, along with a Micro Master’s certificate in Project Management. With a diverse background, including experience as an Admissions Advisor, Coordinator of Erasmus Exchanges, and Facilitator of a First Year Introductory Course, Diella is dedicated to guiding students towards successful academic journeys.

  • Dardan Hajrizi

    Dardan Hajrizi is an alumnus of the Rochester Institute of Technology Kosovo (A.U.K) for both the bachelor and master’s programs (Class of 2014 and 2021). He is a cofounder of an education NGO called Teach For Kosova, a founding member of a small tech company called Prizmi Solutions, has worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), and more recently has joined the RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) staff as a Student Life Coordinator.
    Dardan’s variety of experiences have enabled him to successfully collaborate with the Student Government, Senate, heads of departments, coordinators, and the student body to plan, organize, and schedule different events that have positively impacted the RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) community

    Additionally, he believes that by organizing events that build skills in particular fields, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.’s) student body will be better prepared to enter the workforce with skillsets that meet labor market demands. As a result, their experiences as an RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.) student will be more fulfilling, prepare them for life after university, and more importantly, enable them to make meaningful contributions both locally and abroad.

    As a member of the quality assurance committee for the Erasmus+ ROAMING project, Dardan brings his knowledge and expertise to ensure that all materials disseminated to all partners, stakeholders, audiences, etc. conform to the set standards and agreed upon regulations.

    Lavon Bajrami is an accomplished professional with a wealth of experience in education management, marketing, and the services industry. With a passion for delivering exceptional results, Lavon has consistently demonstrated a proven track record of success in enrollment management, student engagement, career development, and fundraising.

     

    Equipped with a Master of Science in Professional Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Public Policy, Lavon brings a diverse skill set and a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in leading and managing educational institutions.
